Concordia Carnival Announces Free Solidarity Event and 2027 Schedule
The Ente Permanente de Carnaval in Concordia, Argentina, is planning a free solidarity event to collect donations for families affected by recent floods and the rising River Uruguay. President Luis Sánchez said, “Somos parte de la comunidad y entendemos que debemos actuar con responsabilidad. La esencia del carnaval también es la solidaridad,” emphasizing the carnival’s role in supporting the community. The event will feature local comparsas, musicians, dancers and other artists, with the date and venue to be announced.
In parallel, the organization confirmed the 2027 carnival calendar, which will run for six nights starting on Saturday 23 January 2027. The scheduled nights are 23 January, 30 January, 6 February, 8 February, 13 February and 20 February. Sánchez highlighted the carnival’s importance as a cultural, tourist and employment generator for the city.
