Concordia hospital treats teenager in critical condition after severe allergic reaction

Nehuén Ciro González, a 13-year-old boy, is in delicate condition at the Hospital Delicia Concepción Masvernat in Concordia after suffering a severe allergic reaction. According to family members, the teenager experienced severe asphyxiation following the accidental ingestion of food containing lactose.

At the time of his emergency transfer from Concepción del Uruguay to the higher-complexity center in Concordia, the minor had not regained consciousness. His medical prognosis remains reserved.

The incident has reignited local demands for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (UTI Pediátrica) in Concepción del Uruguay. Residents and family members argue that the lack of specialized local services forces the urgent transfer of critically ill children to regional centers like Concordia, which can cost vital time during medical emergencies.
