Concordia Peronist leaders Ángel Giano and Armando Gay reach political agreement

Political leaders Ángel Giano and Armando Gay have announced a political agreement within the Peronist movement in Concordia, Argentina, aimed at overcoming previous differences to build a broad local alternative.

Despite having different political backgrounds and having faced a competitive dispute in the 2023 elections, the leaders emphasized the need to listen to one another and consolidate a project that restores Concordia’s prominence in provincial discussions. They noted that the movement must look beyond the traditional party structure to address the economic and social realities of the community.

The joint statement also serves to deny recent reports of physical aggression or violent clashes between the two during a party meeting. Additionally, they dismissed rumors regarding the intervention of former governor Gustavo Bordet to mediate the situation. The leaders suggested that the path forward could involve either internal competition or a programmatic unity to prepare for future electoral cycles.
