Concordia proposes doubling public works investment for 2027

The municipal government of Concordia, led by Mayor Francisco Azcué, has presented a 2027 budget proposal to the City Council. The plan features a significant increase in public works, allocating $37,000 million to the sector. This represents a 96.3% nominal increase compared to the $18,850 million initially budgeted for 2026.

The total physical investment, which includes public works and the acquisition of capital goods, is projected to reach $41,400 million. This amount would account for 25.1% of the total projected budget of $165,000 million, up from 16.3% in the initial 2026 budget.

Priority areas for the expenditure include street repairs, storm drainage, water and sewage networks, public lighting, urban hygiene, and the maintenance of public spaces. These initiatives are part of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, aimed at improving urban integration and services within the city.
