Concred congress opens in Goiânia to discuss credit cooperativism
The 16th Brazilian Credit Cooperativism Congress (Concred) opened in Goiânia, attracting over 2,600 attendees on its first day, with expectations to reach 5,000 participants throughout the event. Organized by the Brazilian Confederation of Credit Cooperatives (Confebras) in collaboration with Sistema OCB/GO, the congress is considered the largest event of its kind globally.
Luís Alberto Pereira, president of Sistema OCB/GO, highlighted the strategic importance of Goiás in the financial cooperativism sector. He noted that 31 credit cooperatives in the state generated R$ 11 billion in 2025. The state currently hosts 485 service units across 170 municipalities. Despite economic challenges such as high interest rates, high delinquency, and climate effects, the event aims to address these issues through more than 60 lectures featuring experts in digital transformation and agribusiness.
