Condor and pilot union reach long-term agreement
Condor and the pilot union Vereinigung Cockpit have reached a comprehensive agreement known as a “future package,” securing employment for approximately 1,000 employees. The new collective agreement is set to run until the end of September 2029.
A key component of the deal is a complete ban on operational redundancies until 2029. In exchange for this job security, pilots will accept temporary economic concessions, including salary freezes in 2026 and 2027. A 7 percent pay increase is scheduled to take effect in October 2028.
The agreement also introduces structural changes to working conditions, specifically a new leisure model designed to provide pilots with more continuous rest periods without requiring part-time work. Andreas Pinheiro, president of Vereinigung Cockpit, stated that while the compromise may not please everyone, the primary achievement was the protection of jobs.
