Condor flight returns to Hamburg following technical error

A Condor Airbus A320 was forced to return to Hamburg Airport on Sunday evening shortly after departing for Frankfurt. The flight, DE4178, carried 178 passengers and six crew members.

The pilot initiated the return after the aircraft's onboard system issued a technical error message. While unconfirmed, reports suggest the issue may have involved a malfunction with the landing gear, specifically that the gear doors remained open after the landing gear was retracted.

A spokesperson for Condor stated that the landing in Hamburg was “safe and regular.” The aircraft underwent a technical inspection following its return. The incident also resulted in the cancellation of the scheduled return flight, DE4179, from Frankfurt to Hamburg. Passengers from both flights were to be rebooked on alternative services.
