CONECT promotes investment and regional development in Tunisia

The Board of Directors of the Confederation of Citizen Enterprises of Tunisia (CONECT) met in Kairouan on September 26, 2026, to discuss investment, regional development, and business competitiveness.

A key focus was the National Investor Platform, presented by the Tunisian Investment Agency (TIA). CONECT members supported measures to simplify administrative procedures and accelerate investment timelines, urging regional teams to promote the tool to member companies.

The Board also reviewed the Aghlabid Medical City project in Kairouan, praising it as a model for private sector-led regional development, though noting the need for funding and faster implementation. Other topics included the upcoming cessation of activities for technical control offices in October 2026, strategic economic partnerships with Algeria, and CONECT's proposals for the 2027 finance law aimed at balancing production and public finances.
