Italy hosts diverse art exhibitions and permanent collection shifts

Italy is hosting a diverse array of cultural and artistic events across various cities. In Venice, Palazzo Grassi has announced a significant shift in its exhibition model, transitioning to a permanent display of 106 works from the Pinault Collection starting March 21, 2027. This selection represents approximately one percent of François Pinault’s total holdings.

In Milan, the Triennale is showcasing the winners of the Deloitte Photo Grant. The exhibition features the work of Russian photographer Maria Turchenkova, focusing on the emotional impact of war, and Iranian photographer Atefe Moeini, whose series explores the experiences of female refugees.

Other notable exhibitions include a major collection of over 140 works from the German Scharf Collection, spanning 200 years of art from Monet to Picasso, arriving at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa. In Naples, the Maschio Angioino will host '80 Repubblica,' a multimedia project celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic through the perspectives of local women. Additionally, the Palazzo dell’Ostrichina in Bacoli is set to become the permanent FIAP Exhibition Center, hosting international photography exhibitions including a planned showcase on the history of the America’s Cup.

Regional exhibitions continue in Turin with the debut of the Seconda Soluzione project and Giancarlo Cuccù’s color-focused solo show, while various local galleries in Rome, Reggio Calabria, and Brescia are presenting works ranging from landscape photography to contemporary collective art.
