Confartigianato celebrates 80th anniversary in Rome
Confartigianato held its national assembly at the Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome to mark the 80th anniversary of the confederation’s founding in 1946. The event brought together representatives from the associative system, economic sectors, and government institutions.
National President Marco Granelli emphasized the urgent need to reform the 1985 framework law on craftsmanship to better reflect modern production transformations. He noted that updated regulations are essential to help small businesses innovate, grow, and create employment. Granelli also highlighted challenges facing the sector, including high energy costs, geopolitical tensions, supply chain difficulties, and investment uncertainty. According to Confartigianato’s research office, economic shocks between 2022 and 2026 are estimated to cost the Italian economy 296.3 billion euros.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni attended the assembly, noting the historical significance of the anniversary. She linked the confederation’s history to the post-war reconstruction of Italy and the establishment of the Republic, stating that the work of artisans has helped build the nation’s identity and value of labor over eight decades.
