Confcommercio advances urban hub funding and Umbria 2030 regional pact in Italy
In Emilia‑Romagna, the regional budget adjustment will fully finance the urban hub system, a project promoted by Confcommercio to reverse commercial desertification in historic centres and peripheral districts. Enrico Postacchini, president of Confcommercio Emilia‑Romagna, said the funding will generate more pedestrian traffic, improve neighbourhood presence, create qualified jobs, boost perceived safety and strengthen local identity.
In Umbria, Confcommercio, represented by Giorgio Mencaroni, welcomed the “Umbria 2030” pact presented by the regional government as a significant step toward stable concertation between institutions and economic‑social stakeholders. The association stressed the need for genuine listening and effective, focused participation, warning that an overly large general table could hinder operative efficiency. It highlighted the involvement of sectors such as trade, tourism, services, professions and agriculture.
