Conference USA and MVC announce weekly volleyball honors

Conference USA and the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) have announced their respective volleyball players of the week for the period ending October 26.

In Conference USA, Liberty University players dominated the honors. Paige Overcash was named Offensive Player of the Week following a weekend performance where she averaged 4.71 kills per set and recorded 19 kills in a single match against Sam Houston. Melis Ural earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, highlighted by a career-high 22 digs during Liberty’s 3-1 victory over Sam Houston. Liberty’s Alison Bierwagen was recognized as Co-Setter of the Week, while MTSU’s Jaslyn Reed also received honors.

In the Missouri Valley Conference, UNI’s Cassidy Hartman was named Player of the Week, marking her sixth career conference honor. Hartman recorded 32 total kills during home sweeps against Evansville and Bradley. Jadyn Petersen was named Libero of the Week for her defensive contributions, averaging 4.3 digs per set. Belmont’s Erin McMullen was recognized as the MVC Defensive Player of the Week.
