Italy regional initiatives focus on social inclusion and workforce training

Various regional initiatives in Italy are focusing on social inclusion, professional training, and the integration of academic learning with the labor market.

In the Piceno region, the CO. IN. PICENO project, supported by Fondazione Carisap, aims to assist 105 individuals facing hardship, including the unemployed, NEET youth, immigrants, and single-parent families. The program provides coaching, vocational training, and practical support such as mobility vouchers and childcare to facilitate social and professional reintegration.

In Abruzzo, the ‘Insieme Abruzzo’ project, funded by the Fondo per lo Sviluppo e la Coesione (FSC) 2021-2027 and implemented by Formez PA, is launching a pilot phase at the University of Teramo. The initiative offers 14 scholarships to students and recent graduates to strengthen the integration between social and healthcare services through innovation and training.

Additionally, Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico has concluded the XV edition of the ‘Impresa IN Accademia’ program. This initiative bridges the gap between university students and the production system, having historically involved nearly 3,000 students through training and project work designed to address modern workplace transformations like digital transition and artificial intelligence.
