Confins Airport operations disrupted by heavy fog in Belo Horizonte

Dense fog at Belo Horizonte International Airport in Confins caused significant disruptions during the early hours of Saturday, October 31. The weather conditions forced the diversion of 19 aircraft and the cancellation of two flights. Operations at the terminal were reported as normalized by 7:44 AM.

The meteorological event followed intense storms that hit the capital city on Friday night. In response to the heavy rainfall, the municipal Civil Defense has increased monitoring for geological risks. A strong alert for landslide risks remains in effect for the Barreiro and Centro-Sul regions until Tuesday, November 3, while the Nordeste region is under moderate danger monitoring.
