CUSTECH Expels Two Students Over Same‑Sex Relationship, Rusticates Four for Fighting

Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) in Osara, Kogi State, expelled two students for alleged involvement in a same‑sex relationship and rusticated four other students for a term because they were involved in on‑campus fighting. The disciplinary actions were approved at the university Senate’s 31st regular meeting after recommendations from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee and were issued in letters signed by Deputy Registrar (Academics) Eli Usman Gbadafu. The expelled students were identified as Onumoko Hamza, a Biology Education student, and Abdulazeez Eneji, a Mining Engineering student. The suspended students were Favor Akowe (Microbiology), Simbiat Babamuharuna (Biology), Zainab Omayoza (Biochemistry) and Sukura Bukola (Biochemistry). The university said the measures were taken under the provisions of the Students’ Handbook, Second Edition, as amended in 2025, and reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and a conducive learning environment.
