Conforama France ordered to stop deceptive promotional pricing
The French furniture and appliance retailer Conforama France has been ordered to cease deceptive commercial practices regarding its promotional pricing. Following investigations by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF), authorities determined that the company's website displayed reference prices that did not comply with regulatory requirements.
The Departmental Directorate for Population Protection in Seine-et-Marne, where Conforama France is headquartered, issued the injunction. The investigation revealed that the company used non-compliant crossed-out prices, which misled consumers regarding the actual reference price before promotions and the true extent of the discount offered.
