Confsal proposes minimum wage standards to protect workers
Angelo Raffaele Margiotta, Secretary General of Confsal, has called for higher standards in labor contracts to ensure dignity and legal protection for workers. Speaking at the 'Salario Giusto, Lavoro Vero' conference, Margiotta emphasized that fair pay must encompass not only economic compensation but also legal rights and social protections.
Confsal is seeking to combat 'pirate contracts' and prevent wage levels in certain sectors, such as services and security, from falling to as low as 7 or 7.50 euros per hour. To address this, the organization proposes a new framework agreement that establishes a minimum standard for contractual wages below which no collective agreement should fall.
