Cong An Ha Noi FC receives FIFA transfer ban
FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on the Vietnamese football club Cong An Ha Noi FC (CAHN), the defending V.League champions. The ban is set to last for three consecutive transfer windows, effective from September 15, 2026.
The specific reasons for the sanction have not been disclosed by FIFA. Typically, such bans result from financial disputes, transfer regulation violations, or failure to comply with previous FIFA rulings, such as unpaid debts to players or staff.
Under the terms of the ban, CAHN is prohibited from signing new players, borrowing players on loan, registering free agents, or promoting players from their youth academy to the first team. The club may only utilize players registered prior to September 15, 2026. The club remains eligible to compete in domestic and international tournaments, including the V.League and the AFC Champions League. The ban can be lifted if the club resolves the underlying issues and fulfills its financial obligations.
