The Congada de Uberlândia is celebrating its 150th anniversary with large-scale processions and religious ceremonies. The festivities, held in the center of Uberlândia, honor Nossa Senhora do Rosário, São Benedito, and Santa Efigênia.
The event includes various traditional groups such as Catupés, Marujos, Moçambiques, Marinheiros, and Congo. The celebrations involve processions through the city, solemn masses, and the symbolic installation of organizers for the 2027 cycle.
To support the cultural heritage, the municipal government allocated R$ 1,895,649.48 in investments through the Annual Budget Law. Public health services have also deployed mobile units along the routes to assist devotees.
