congatec patents technology for cybersecure edge architectures

congatec, a provider of embedded and edge computing technology, has announced a patent (WO2025186118A1) for its aReady. COM modules designed to secure communication between operational technology (OT) and IT infrastructure.

The patented technology utilizes the conga-zones hypervisor and conga-connect IoT software to create isolated system partitions. This architecture establishes a security barrier between virtual machines, preventing direct data forwarding between the IT and OT sides. By using data projection, the system prevents external access to OT devices via IT infrastructure and protects IT infrastructure from potential access through embedded devices.

This approach allows companies to consolidate machine, application, and communication functions onto a single, secure-by-design platform. The aReady. COM modules aim to help customers accelerate the integration of IoT connectivity, security, virtualization, and AI while reducing development times and total cost of ownership.
