Congo and Belgium boost public administration reforms and industrial investment

Belgium reiterated its commitment to support reforms of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s public administration. During a meeting in Kinshasa, Vice‑Prime Minister for Public Service Jean‑Pierre Lihau and Belgian Ambassador Roxane de Bilderling reviewed cooperation projects, including the rollout of provincial branches of the National School of Administration (ENA‑RDC). The Belgian development agency Enabel praised recent upgrades to ENA‑RDC facilities and the broader effort to professionalise Congo’s civil service.

In parallel, the Congolese Promotion Fund (FPI) prepared a major Industrial Investment Conference slated for 29 July in Brussels. Deputy Director General Blaise Mastaky Birindwa met the Congolese ambassador to Belgium to finalize logistics, emphasising the conference’s role in attracting investors, showcasing the country’s industrial potential, and engaging the Congolese diaspora. Both initiatives aim to strengthen economic ties and promote structural transformation in the DRC.
