Congo explores Belgian sanitation expertise and industrial economic shifts

In Brazzaville, Belgium's Ambassador Emmanuelle Plissart De Foy has proposed technical expertise to the Congolese Minister of Urban Sanitation, Juste Désiré Mondelé. The discussions focused on waste management, urban planning, and the circular economy, aiming to transform waste into resources through recycling and reuse. The cooperation intends to address sanitation issues on land, in rivers, and at sea.

Simultaneously, the President of the Congolese Senate, Pierre Ngolo, has called for a shift from a purely extractive economy toward industrial transformation. This appeal for economic diversification comes as the Senate approved four oil contract amendments during an extraordinary session. The legislative body is set to examine production sharing contracts for Banga Kayo II, Holmoni, and Cayo as part of its ongoing sessions.
