Congo football clubs restructure as Maï‑Ndombe debuts in national U17 championship
The Katasi du Congo football club, newly promoted to the Democratic Republic of Congo's Ligue 2, has reorganised its sporting committee. coordination of the senior side is now overseen by Guiney Ngelemawo, assisted by Ronaldy Lukambu. A women's team has been created under Anna Pola, and a junior development section has been added, headed by Émeraude Gavi Kamba. Sponsorship and overall supervision remain with club president Kennedy Katasi.
Separately, the province of Maï‑Ndombe will take part for the first time in the national U17 championship organized by the Ligue Nationale de Football des Jeunes (LINAFJ) in Kinshasa from 1‑15 August 2026. Governor Lebon Nkoso Kevani covered the delegation’s travel costs, and the team is training at the FECOFA facilities in the city. The provincial side faces a shortage of equipment and has appealed for additional support from local businesses and partners.
