Congo sets Q3 2026 oil reference price at $91.51 per barrel

Authorities in Brazzaville have established the quarterly reference price for Congolese hydrocarbons for the third quarter of 2026 at $91.51 per barrel. The pricing reflects variations across different national crude grades: the Nkossa Blend was valued highest at approximately $94.15 per barrel, followed by the Djeno Blend at $91.494, while the Yombo grade was evaluated at $88.885.

Lucien Ebata, CEO of Trident OGX, noted that these pricing determinations are essential for aligning product costs with financial strategies and market positioning. Trident OGX aims to increase production from 2,500 barrels per day to 10,000 barrels per day, with further ambitions to reach between 45,000 and 50,000 barrels per day at the Mengo oil field by 2027.

The Ministry of Hydrocarbons emphasized that the pricing process is intended to enhance the attractiveness of Congolese sedimentary basins for investment, ensure legal security, and maintain a balance between state interests and those of private investors.
