Congo targets 870bn CFA franc digital economy contribution

The Republic of the Congo has established a five-year economic target for its digital sector. According to the country's finance law, the digital economy is projected to contribute 870 billion CFA francs to the gross domestic product over the next five years.

This figure was announced by Nkaba Atsana, the general coordinator of E-Business Days, during a conference in Brazzaville. He noted that the target represents the scale of the digital sector's contribution to national wealth rather than a specific budget appropriation. Atsana emphasized that achieving this goal will require significant mobilization of private operators alongside public spending, as individual ministerial budgets currently range between 100 and 140 billion CFA francs.
