Congo tax authorities warn of sanctions for Sfec non-compliance
The Direction Générale des Impôts et des Domaines (Dgid) in Congo is urging businesses to adopt the Congo Electronic Invoicing System (Sfec) before a deadline of October 31. Failure to comply with the regulations may result in sanctions, including the risk that invoices from non-compliant companies will be rejected by their clients.
Data from the Dgid indicates that between July 1 and October 18, 2026, only 686 out of 1,335 companies connected to the Sfec were using certified invoices, while 649 had not yet begun issuing them. To facilitate the transition, Dgid teams are conducting a three-day awareness campaign in Pointe-Noire, offering sector-specific meetings, practical demonstrations, and individual support to help taxpayers master the system and ensure regular use before the deadline.
