Congonhas to host 2026 CiMTB season finale
The 2026 season finale of the International Mountain Bike Cup (CiMTB) will take place in Congonhas from September 25 to 27. For the first time, the competition will be hosted at the Praça de Eventos, which will feature an expanded infrastructure including athlete showers, air-conditioned bathrooms, a food court, a product fair, a concert stage, a children's area, and a mobile health unit.
The event marks the 30th anniversary of CiMTB and will feature live broadcasts of all three days of competition via the official CiMTB YouTube channel, facilitated by the Brazilian company NEOiD. The schedule includes Short Track (XCC) on Friday, Olympic Cross Country (XCO) on Saturday, and a Marathon (XCM) on Sunday featuring entirely new long-distance routes.
As the decisive stage of the championship, the event offers increased points for competitors across 62 categories. In the Men's Super Elite category, Gustavo Xavier currently leads the general classification, followed by Alex Malacarne and Mário Couto. In the Women's category, Isabella Lacerda holds the lead.
