The Congress party has accused the BJP-led government in Madhya Pradesh of involvement in a liquor scam, calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order an impartial investigation. Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and Jitu Patwari raised concerns regarding alleged irregularities in liquor contracts and the transfer of two liquor shops in Bhopal.
Specific allegations include a fake fixed deposit receipt (FDR) worth approximately Rs 2.75 crore and an alleged bribe of Rs 1 crore. Jitu Patwari, the Madhya Pradesh Congress president, posed seven questions to the Prime Minister regarding the matter.
