Congress issues three-month ultimatum for Bhopal and Indore master plans

The Congress Party in Madhya Pradesh has issued a three-month ultimatum to the state government to implement the master plans for Bhopal and Indore. Jitu Patwari, President of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, expressed support for former minister P.C. Sharma, who conducted a 31-hour hunger strike to demand the plan's implementation. Patwari warned that if the master plans are not released within three months, the party will organize a massive march from Indore to Bhopal involving 50,000 people to protest against unplanned urban development and corruption.

In response, Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishvas Sarang dismissed the hunger strike as political drama. Sarang questioned the whereabouts of Congress leaders during their previous 14-month tenure and asserted that the BJP government is committed to the development of Bhopal and will release the master plan soon. Additionally, Sarang addressed Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming visit to Indore, stating that while the government does not block political programs, Gandhi should avoid making statements that promote division or class conflict.
