Congress launches protests over alleged Ram temple offering theft

The Indian National Congress announced a large-scale protest in Ayodhya on 13 July, with the district committee urging party officials, workers and the public to gather at the district headquarters to demand a transparent investigation into the alleged theft of offerings from the Ram temple. The demonstration, led by district Congress president Vijay Singh, is framed as a call for truth, accountability and protection of democratic values.

In Himachal Pradesh, the state Congress has escalated its campaign, directing party workers to hold protests at all district headquarters. Activists will conduct bhajan‑kiirtan sessions inside local Ram temples and accuse the ruling BJP of hurting Hindu sentiment. State Congress president Vinay Kumar has urged district leaders to inform the public about the alleged theft and to press for action against those responsible, while demanding the return of funds linked to the incident.
