Congress leader Sachin Pilot slams Rajasthan government over election delays
On August 1, Congress leader Sachin Pilot spoke to journalists in Jaipur, criticizing the Rajasthan government for not conducting Panchayat, municipal and student‑union elections despite a Rajasthan High Court order. He urged the administration to change its thinking, give opportunities to young people and hold the demanded student‑union polls.
Pilot said the government has failed, that the opposition will surround it in the assembly, and cited the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and the subsequent praise he received from BJP MPs as evidence of a disconnect with public sentiment. He also referenced Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, stating the government is not afraid of him or the Congress.
The remarks highlight political tension in the state ahead of upcoming local elections.
