Congress leaders allege unfair elections and voter theft in India
Senior leaders of the Indian National Congress have raised serious allegations regarding the fairness of elections in India. Following a Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, MP Jairam Ramesh claimed that elections are not being conducted impartially, describing the process as a “match-fixing” arrangement between the government and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The party highlighted concerns over “vote theft,” with leaders alleging that more than 130 million voters were removed from voter lists during the Special Interim Revision (SIR). Congress leaders stated they intend to launch a nationwide campaign to reach these affected voters and continue their resistance through both parliamentary and street-level protests.
In a separate strategic move, the Congress SC/ST MPs Forum held a meeting in New Delhi to develop a nationwide strategy against atrocities committed against Dalit and Tribal communities. Led by figures such as Tanuj Punia and Vikrant Bhuria, the forum aims to move beyond reactive measures to proactively defend the rights of these communities across all states, following recent incidents of misconduct and perceived insults to these groups.
