Congress leaders challenge Amit Shah ahead of Telangana visit

Ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to Telangana, leaders from the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) have raised several demands and allegations against the central government.

Congress leader Hanumant Rao has called on Shah to address OBC reservation and the implementation of a caste-wise census. Rao criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the administration is influenced by the RSS and has failed to act on the interests of Other Backward Classes (OBCs). He noted that the Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi, is actively championing OBC representation.

Separately, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud questioned Shah regarding the alleged removal of eligible voters from electoral rolls in Telangana through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Goud accused the central government of “vote theft” and demanded explanations for the deletions, while also questioning the Centre’s fulfillment of promises made under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
