Congress Party announces major organizational changes in Meghalaya
The Congress party has announced a major organizational restructuring of its Meghalaya unit as part of its 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan' (Organization Creation Campaign). Following approval from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, several key appointments were made to the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), including two executive presidents, a senior vice president, three vice presidents, and three general secretaries.
In addition to state-level leadership, the party has reorganized its district-level structure, appointing new heads for the Eastern West Khasi Hills, Ri Bhoi, and South West Garo Hills district committees.
The restructuring also includes the formation of four primary committees: Political Affairs, State Election, Disciplinary Action, and Manifesto. A. Chellakumar has been appointed as the chairman of the Political Affairs Committee, while Vincent H. Pala will lead the State Election Committee.
