Congress party gains five councillors in Madhya Pradesh

Five councillors in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, have rejoined the Indian National Congress after previously defecting to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The councillors—Cheta Bhai Kushwaha, Arvind Singh, Rakhi Dhru Yadav, Anshul Jain, and Ram Kumar—officially obtained Congress membership in the presence of several party leaders.

The move is seen as a boost for the Congress organization in the Tikamgarh municipality, which has recently been a focal point of political activity. This follows a legal development where the High Court reinstated the municipal president, Pappu Malik, to his position after he had been removed.
