Congress protests inflation in Indore with symbolic food distribution

The Indian National Congress organized widespread protests in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to demonstrate against rising inflation. Under the direction of State Congress President Jitu Patwari, activists held demonstrations across 24 blocks of the city, including areas such as Rajwada and the Mangal Nagar petrol pump.

In a symbolic protest at Rajwada, party workers distributed sugar and paneer to the public to highlight the increasing cost of essential food items. City Congress President Chintu Chokse stated that sugar prices have risen by approximately 30 to 35 rupees per kilogram, which will heavily impact household budgets during the upcoming festive season, including Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, and Diwali.

In addition to food costs, the protesters targeted the rising prices of petrol, gas, and electricity. They also raised concerns regarding ethanol blending in fuel, alleging it negatively affects vehicle mileage and increases costs for drivers.
