Karnataka Congress launches ‘Bharat Jodo 2.0’ padyatra

The Karnataka Congress has launched the ‘Bharat Jodo 2.0’ padyatra, a march starting from Kittadahalli village in the Shikaripura taluk of Shivamogga district. The campaign is designed to cover 84 assembly constituencies where the party lost during the 2023 Assembly elections. Over an 84-day period, the march will span 29 districts, focusing on local issues such as drought and farmers' concerns.

KPCC President B. K. Hariprasad led the initial march, which passed through the constituency of Karnataka BJP President and MLA B. Y. Vijayendra. Hariprasad accused Vijayendra of removing Congress flags and posters, while Vijayendra countered by claiming the Congress march was merely an imitation of the BJP’s ‘Ballari Chalo’ movement. Vijayendra also dismissed Hariprasad’s political experience and denied allegations of financial misconduct, noting that previous legal matters involving him had been settled in court.
