Congressional Black Caucus Week hosts events for Black women's health and leadership

During the 55th Annual Legislative Conference of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in Washington, D.C., several high-level events focused on the advancement of Black women in policy, health, and leadership.

The ‘Black Women. Health. Power.’ reception brought together over 150 participants, including representatives from politics, civil society, and community organizations. The discussions centered on reproductive justice, healthcare affordability, and necessary reforms for pregnancy and childbirth, such as safe discharge plans and anti-racism training within the healthcare system.

Parallel to these health discussions, the ‘100 Women of Excellence’ series, curated by Honorable Erica Thomas alongside the Brown Girl Brunch Series and the Media Girls Network, celebrated women making global impacts. The series included a ceremony at the United States Capitol and a networking brunch featuring prominent figures such as U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock, aimed at fostering connections among politicians, corporate executives, and business owners.
