CONMEBOL allocates $10.5 million for new football training center in Lara, Venezuela
CONMEBOL and the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) have officially launched the construction of the National High Performance Center (CNAR) in Lara state. CONMEBOL President Alejandro Domínguez announced an allocation of $10.5 million for the project, which will serve as Venezuela's second high-performance center, following the existing facility on Margarita Island.
Located at the Metropolitano Stadium in Cabudare, the complex will span approximately 5,891 square meters. The facility is designed to provide comprehensive preparation for national teams, featuring five football pitches that meet FIFA and CONMEBOL standards, a hotel module capable of hosting four national teams simultaneously, and specialized medical areas including physiotherapy and rehabilitation pools.
The project aims to decentralize athlete preparation and boost football in the central-western region of the country. Beyond sports development, the construction is expected to stimulate the local economy in Cabudare through job creation and related economic activity.
