CONMEBOL announces 2027 tournament calendar and format changes
CONMEBOL has released the official calendar and format updates for its major club competitions in 2027.
A significant change will be implemented for the Copa Sudamericana, where the first phase will transition from single-match knockout rounds to home-and-away series. This change aims to increase the number of international matches for participating clubs. The Copa Sudamericana 2027 is scheduled to begin its first phase in the first week of March, with the final set for November 20, 2027. Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, has been designated as the host city for the Sudamericana final, with the match intended to take place at the Ramón Tahuichi Aguilera stadium, provided local authorities meet all continental requirements.
The Copa Libertadores 2027 will begin its first phase on February 3, with the grand final scheduled for November 27, 2027. Additionally, the Recopa Sudamericana 2027 will feature a two-legged tie, with the first match on February 17 and the second on February 24.
