Connecticut leaders promote AI workforce training and quantum sensing

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont and state officials are highlighting workforce development programs designed to prepare workers for the transition to artificial intelligence. Central to these efforts is the Tech Talent Accelerator, a program that facilitates partnerships between businesses and higher education institutions. The state is currently supporting several AI pilot programs at institutions including Connecticut College, the University of New Haven, and Quinnipiac University, focusing on fields such as cybersecurity, accounting, and healthcare innovation.

In a separate technological initiative, QuantumCT has launched its Phase 3 Pilot Project Request for Proposals to advance quantum sensing technologies. Collaborating with Yale and UConn, the initiative seeks to translate research into practical applications. Priority areas for development include magnetic-aided inertial navigation, radio frequency signal detection using Rydberg atom sensors, quantum-enabled distributed sensing, and biological systems with quantum processes.
