Connecticut Sun to play final WNBA game at TD Garden before Houston relocation

The Connecticut Sun will play their third and likely final annual WNBA game at TD Garden in Boston on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Sparks. This event marks the end of the franchise's 23-year tenure in New England.

Following a sale to billionaire Tilman Fertitta for a reported $300 million, the team is scheduled to relocate to Houston, Texas, at the conclusion of the 2026 season. Upon relocation, the franchise is expected to change its name to the Comets.

Despite both teams struggling in the WNBA standings, the matchup features notable talent, including 10-time All-Star Brittney Griner for the Sun and Cameron Brink for the Sparks. While local officials and Governor Maura Healey have expressed interest in keeping professional women's basketball in the region, the relocation appears set.
