Connecticut towns receive millions for opioid response and bridge projects
The town of Falls Village, Kent and North Canaan are considering a proposal to allocate $24,000 from the state opioid settlement fund to regional addiction services, amid debate over whether the money should stay within local emergency response.
In Harwinton, Senator Paul Honig announced that more than $1.2 million in state funding will cover the full replacement of two aging bridges, part of a $16.8 million statewide bridge program that matches 50 % of local project costs.
Both initiatives reflect Connecticut's effort to channel settlement and state grant money into public health and infrastructure improvements, with officials emphasizing the benefits of preventing emergencies and maintaining safe transportation networks.
