Rádio Nacional FM Brasília celebrates 50 years with special programming

Rádio Nacional FM Brasília is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special programming event on the Espaço Arte program. The commemorative edition, airing this Friday, will feature artists from various generations who have shaped the station's history and the culture of the Distrito Federal.

Hosted by Marcelo Ferreira and Mário Sartorello, the special broadcast includes appearances by pianist and composer Renato Vasconcellos, multi-instrumentalist Renato Mattos, and singers Fernanda Jacob and Ane Êoketu. Additionally, the Tarde Nacional program will broadcast celebratory messages from various artists throughout the afternoon.

Created in 2004 on Rádio Nacional AM Brasília and expanding to the FM frequency in 2016, Espaço Arte has served as a prominent platform for local artists and cultural initiatives for two decades. Rádio Nacional operates a network of eight stations across Brazil, including locations in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Recife, São Luís, the Amazon, and Alto Solimões.

Separately, political developments in Rio de Janeiro show seventeen names currently vying for the two Senate seats in the 2026 elections. Candidates include Marcelo Crivella, Waguinho, Benedita da Silva, and Carlos Jordy, among others. The final list of candidates is subject to change until the registration deadline on August 15.

In the Distrito Federal, former Public Security Secretary Sandro Avelar is scheduled to discuss his administration's impact on crime rates and public safety initiatives during an interview on the Vozes da Comunidade program.
