Connectivity trends shift from Mini DisplayPort to USB-C solutions

The landscape of video connectivity is shifting as older standards like Mini DisplayPort face competition from more versatile interfaces. While Mini DisplayPort, once a staple for compact devices like MacBooks, is becoming less common, the underlying DisplayPort technology remains relevant for high-performance workstations and gaming monitors due to its ability to support resolutions up to 8K.

In the consumer market, USB-C is increasingly becoming the preferred single-cable solution. For example, UGREEN has released the Revodok Pro, a 7-in-1 USB-C docking station. This device allows users to expand a single laptop port into dual 4K HDMI outputs, multiple high-speed data ports (USB-A and USB-C at 10 Gbps), and 100W Power Delivery for charging.
