Connells Group reports progress on branch refurbishment programme
Connells Group has completed or is nearing completion on 38 branch refurbishments as part of its estate modernization initiative, known as Project Blueprint. The program aims to upgrade the company’s approximately 1,200 branches across 87 brands. Following the acquisition of Countrywide five years ago, the group is focusing on modernizing its physical presence to better compete in the market.
The upgrades include the installation of 15,000 new PCs and telephones, as well as digital display technology for branch windows. Early completions include the Alan de Maid branch in Locksbottom, Kent, and a Bridgfords office in Leeds. Chief Operating Officer Chris Rosindale noted that the company is conducting six-month reviews following each refurbishment to assess return on investment, reporting that branch KPIs and market share are improving.
Chief Executive Helen Charlesworth emphasized that the project goes beyond cosmetic changes, stating the goal was to “move with the times” rather than simply painting walls or replacing carpets. This investment comes as the company navigates a challenging trading environment and a weak sales market within the wider estate agency sector.
