Connie Burton, sister of Metallica legend Cliff Burton, dies

Connie Burton, the sister of the late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, passed away on Wednesday, August 19. Her death occurred less than two months after a fundraiser was initiated to support a life-saving surgery.

According to statements shared via social media by the Cliff Burton Family and Cliff Burton Day accounts, Connie passed away at 7:50 PM while surrounded by loved ones. She was known for her lifelong dedication to preserving her brother's musical legacy, having contributed stories to the documentary ‘The Salvation Kingdom’.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Mercedes Brereton, and her partner of 24 years, Harold Shannon.
