Connor Hellebuyck linked to NHL trade rumors
Speculation regarding a potential trade for Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck continues as training camp approaches. Reports suggest that the 33-year-old, a multi-time Vezina Trophy winner, may be open to a move if it provides an opportunity to join a Stanley Cup contending team.
Earlier in the off-season, trade discussions involving the Buffalo Sabres reportedly came close to fruition but did not materialize before the NHL Draft. While Hellebuyck is currently under contract through the 2030-31 season with an average annual value of $8.5 million and holds a full no-movement clause, he is believed to be willing to waive it for the right competitive situation.
Other teams linked to the goaltender in recent rumors include the Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, and Vegas Golden Knights. Winnipeg teammates Josh Morrissey and captain Adam Lowry have expressed hope that Hellebuyck remains with the organization, though they acknowledge the uncertainty surrounding his future.
