Los Angeles Kings interested in trading for Connor Hellebuyck
The Los Angeles Kings have expressed interest in acquiring Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, according to reports from NHL insider Frank Seravalli. Kings general manager Ken Holland has reportedly inquired about trade terms for the three-time Vezina Trophy winner, and Hellebuyck has indicated he would consent to a trade to Los Angeles.
Hellebuyck is currently in a standoff with the Winnipeg Jets after requesting a trade and failing to report to training camp. As a result, the Jets have suspended the 2024-25 Hart Trophy winner without pay. While the Jets have maintained a strong record during his absence, management has yet to receive a trade offer that meets their requirements.
The Kings are seeking goaltending stability following a winless start to the 2026-27 season, where current netminders Darcy Kuemper and Anton Forsberg have struggled. However, analysts note that acquiring the 33-year-old Hellebuyck may not align with the Kings' aging roster, which currently holds the league's highest average age.
