Connor Ingram announces retirement from NHL at age 29

NHL goaltender Connor Ingram has announced his retirement from professional hockey at the age of 29. The Saskatoon native shared the news via Instagram, stating, “Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy it happened. Thanks hockey, I owe ya.”

Ingram’s career spanned five seasons and 134 regular-season games. He played for the Nashville Predators, Arizona Coyotes, Utah Hockey Club, and most recently, the Edmonton Oilers. During his tenure in the NHL, he recorded a 55-54-18 record with a .901 save percentage and nine shutouts. In 2024, he was awarded the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for his perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication.

Throughout his career, Ingram was open about his mental health struggles, including depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and utilized the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. Following his retirement, Ingram intends to return to school to study psychology with the goal of helping others.
